We've been looking to build some bits for Izi's enclosure incuding a second landing, and spent today searching art stores and a hardware store for styrofoam and nowhere sells it. Are there any other materials you guys could recommend? We've bought a grout to cover it so we just need something strong and easy to carve or mould. Any suggestions?

We thought about cardboard and different woods....

Unfortunately i live on an island which is 5x9 miles, therefore the number of places to look is highly limited....i've checked just about everywhere i can think of and the closest thing we found were ceiling tiles which are made from a similar material to styrofoam so hopefully they'll do =)

Oh my.. I'm just curious to know what island this is?

Sucks you can't find the proper materials but I have seen people grout over wood and even cardboard. I don't know how that would work. And I have seen some people using those styrofoam type of insulation. So I dunno if you've looked into that.

Good Luck.

Try looking at boxes that electronics or breakable items are shipped in. The foam that they pack around those items would work, you would just have to work with the shape that it came in to make something.
