Ok.. so this semester, I decided not to work and to stay at home. (I still live with my parentals.) Well, today, I was thinking about possibly adding more classes to my schedule and not working next semester either. (Oh. I'm an online student.) But, then I was thinking about how would I pay vet bills for my pup, as she goes for her 4 month shot this month and then in 2 months, her 6 month shots. I've been making a little money writting online, but for the most part that money has been going to my cell phone bill, which next month I expect to be through the roof. I've been taking a little money from my savings to pay my credit card bills, which there are two. And, my boyfriend's grandma owes me money. I'm hoping that within the next two months, she'll finish paying me the last $300, which will all go to Chase. I'll take like $50 a month for Capital One, and whatever money I make online with articles will go towards my phone bill with any overages coming from savings. Which is great... But that doesn't tak into account the vet bills, the next reptile rack I need to buy for hatchlings, the bigger snake enclosure, or the male crested gecko I would like to have. I do not want to say I need the crested gecko, but without a male, I cannot produce anything next season with two females; it's just not possible. I have one female for sell, and could sell the other, but I would like to produce a few crestes next season, so I'd have to buy more. Plus, I do like the other female that I have... A lot... And, I would like to add a mack snow female leopard gecko, but I can do without for now, as I don't really have the room or money...

So there are the details... Should I go to work at the end of the semester, and just take two classes next semester. Or, should I take the semester off and have to ask my parents to help me more than they already have. (I know I can't really ask for money for the cage or racks or reptiles, but I may be able to swing the vet visits.)

Thought- I may be able to swing the rack and snake enclosure if I say it's Christmas. Thoughts about doing that? Then all, I would have to do it buy the reptiles (male crested and maybe a mack snow leopard gecko).

If you are strictly an online student then it should not be too hard to get a part time job and still take all the classes you need. You may have a few late nights but think of all the geckos you could buy with the money. lol thats probably what I would do.

Have you thought about a job you could do at home for just a few extra bucks? My sister sells Avon. All she does is pass out books, take orders, everything is sent to her and she makes sure everyone gets their order. she basicly gets paid every two weeks. sometimes she does good other times not so good. But for the little bit of time she puts in to it, she makes decent money. You make a percentage of what you sell. The more you sell, the higher the percentage.
Just a thought.

I've thought about that, but I don't know anyone that would buy Avon.. Then I thought about ebaying the products, but I wouldn't be able to sale for the asking price. I've been doing some articles like I mentioned, but that money goes to bills.

I am a strickly online student, and wouldn't have a problem working full time, that's what I've been doing. I guess I'm just somewhat enjoying my time not working... I've been working full time in corporate and retail for two years, and never really spent any time at home after graduating highschool.

I dunno... Maybe I'm jsut crazy, and should just suck it up and get another job...

I actually think you learn better/more when you can go to school and work less. If you were at a physical school I'd say look for an oncampus job or some sort of part time or quarter time in the field you want to do.

You should be able to find a male Crested Gecko very cheap if your not picky.

If it's an accredited school you MAY qualify for some sort of low interest loans that you don't pay back until after school. Worth looking into.

It is accredited- Troy University... I have a loan, but I'm trying not to use it. so i don't have much to pay back... :-( I'm thinking about a part time teller job at a bank. it's like 8-2 and every other saturday... i'm just hoping i don't work on the saturday that has a show... there's one in atlanta in november that i'm going to... i need a bigger snake cage... i'll just have to ask off if i'm working... ha.. that cage is important... well, i could go on a sunday.. who knows. we'll see.

i'm not really wanting to work but... bills gotta get paid... i owe a lote to credit cards lately... and i'm over my cell phone minutes by like 400, so i'm scared for that bill this upcoming month...

Well my adivce is find a phone that lets you talk unlimited during cirtain periods. Don't be drawn in by a cheap phone when your contract expires. It's better to pay for a phone and save more long term.
Until then you'll need to really watch the phone thing cause over the minutes is how they get you. ;)

You should make sure you've filled out all the federal finacil aid stuff and state stuff every year. It's probably more now, but when i went I got loans for like 1% interest.

Look for a Crested up for adoption maybe or look to borrow a stud for a day or two.

It sounds like financially you really don't have a choice. That's even if you don't consider the items you list as "wants" over "needs". What about delivering newspapers? It's a small committment & the hours are somewhat flexible & you wouldn't have a boss standing over you.
