Disenfecting Tank Safely???

Hello!

I dont yet own my leo but used to have a bearded dragon. I am going to be using the same tank and want to be sure I disinfect thoroughly! I did see a thread somewhere around here that said 1/4 gallon bleach and fill the rest of the jug up with water - do you all agree this is the way to go?

Can I vacuum the leftover sand up with a regular vacuum cleaner?

What about disinfecting bowls, etc. Sit it in the bleach/water mixture?

I have old reptile carpet - If I want to use that again, what should I wash that in?

i would say if you can take the cage outside give it a good washing with a bleach mix, then a disinfecting soap and water, really wash it down well. As for bowls and everything else bleach it and water and after soap and water. reptile carpet i would throw out and get new. but if you wanted to use it. wash it in your washer.
