Disturbing noise annoying geckos?

I just noticed that my flourescent canopy on one of my gecko tanks is humming somewhat. Do all flourescents do this? Also my main question is is it perhaps stressing or annoying the geckos in anyway??

I'd like to know too; I live right next to an airport, sometimes even my human ears can hear a low frequency sound...Having said that, I lived there for more than 5 years now, all my geckos seem to do fine. So I guess the sound is not annoying them, or they've gotten used to it.

Although from observing mine, running a vacuum in their tanks, and even having them come out to see that I'm cleaning it well enough to suit them.....I see no ill effect here........ but as everyone and everything... it probably would be hard to commit to each gecko and each sound without some observation time........take care. HJ.

The balast of your fluorescent lamp is humming. A PL lamp doesn't, you might want to change your lighting if it is bothering you.

I think ambient noise is annoying if your exposed for a brief period. I got annoyed with the cricket chirping the first time I kept them. Overtime, the brain can get used to the exposure and block-off certain sounds.

Why are you using flourescent lights?

Do you have them in a dark room?

ya there in my closet in my bedroom which has no lights. That and I read that since crested dont like much heat heat lamps are out and I happened to have a flourescent on hand. The room temperature is a constant 77 degrees thanlks to my leo racks.
