is spray foam safe to use to make naturalistic backgrounds and such? it would be sealed and painted of course but i was wondering if it was toxic

the same sort of stuff they use for roofing insulation? that type, its like a yellow colour and crunches. if so, I wouldn't risk using it incase it crumbles up.
But if somones used it before without effects then hell give it a try.

i was at the national aquarium in D.C. about a week ago (along with all the snow) and all their cages that weren't fish had that in there (you could see it where the paint was coming off)

I was planning on doing it myself. What paint are you going to use Robin?

It is perfectly safe once it has fully cured. Do a little browsing around Dendroboard for some ideas, there are a lot of amazing foam background setups.

so, stephanie has been talking about making this naturalistic terrarium and such and i said well lets look around a bit more and she tells me "oh, i don't want to do that today. i want to make poo piles and paint them." and i told her "ok but only if you paint corn and peanuts on them"
