Do eggs grow

I'm sitting on my first egg. I'm pretty sure they mated because my female had quite the bite on her head and normaly she kicks his but. The egg seems to have grown since it was first hatched is this typical or am I just staring at the thing to much.

You know your not supposed to sit on them and when an egg hatches it becomes a babby which grows of course XPXP. Just kidding with you i got what you ment.

Is it like gaining in circumfrence or would it be more along the lines of absorbing moisture? I do belive gecko eggs expand a little after being layed but that may be misinformation.
