Since I learned by my mistake of putting a dozen (12) crickets in spots cage and them not being eaten. I have been putting 1 cricket in its tank to see if it will eat. nope nadda. 8 days after getting him, (last night) I was cleaning out the cage with nothing inside the cage I threw in a dusted cricket.... Turned around to grab a hide to put back in and the girls went "whoa baby! daddy look! spot just ate the cricket, can we give it another one?"
Heck yeah! he/she was chasing them down... Was actually kinda cool to watch... most active I have seen it while inside the cage. anyways, We ended up giving him 5 crickets.. Within I dunno, 5-7seconds, he/she had it ate. when the cricket entered the tank Spot was already on it.
Tonight, (just now) I took everything out of his tank and put 3 crickets in. Maybe within 30 seconds spot had ate all 3. I put in another 3. Same thing. put the last two I had in there, and he ate those as well. All together within 10mins Spot ate 8 crickets
Spot had them all ate quicker than I could get the crickets out of their "home", dusted and put into the tank.
Do I keep throwing crickets in the tank to be eaten as long as he eats them right away or at least shows interest and follows them? Or do I need to limit how many crickets eaten? Do I feed more than once a day? Do I need to dust them everyday?
Thanks.
BTW, If the weight and length helps any, he is about 6in long and as of 7days ago weighed 19.52g
