Do leos get lonely??

Last year I bought my first grouping of leopard geckos and they have since lived happily together. It was supposed to be three females, but it turned out my high yellow was a male and we ended up with a few babies. I don't want him to breed with my morphs this season, so I moved him to a tank by himself about a week and a half ago. He is still coming out to eat when he hears his food scurring about his tank, but that is pretty much the only time that I see him out. He used to be much more active. Is he lonely or just still adjusting? Would he be happier if I got him a girlfriend or will he eventually be okay on his own? Thanks for any imput!

He will be just fine on his own. All of my leos are housed individually, unless together for a short time for breeding purposes and they are all thriving. I'm sure he is still adjusting from the move. He's been in the same house for a long time and now he suddenly has a new one. It's a very good sign that he's eating, though! :yes: Just give him some time and he'll come around.

I agree. Leopard Geckos do not get lonely, and do just fine being kept individually.

Yea I just found out on this site gecko's don't get lonely and after I bought my other gecko to keep hasehy company. I come to find out I did not need another Gecko. However the other gecko, ninja I bought I had to keep him, so now I have 2 gecko's.

I believe they won't get lonely, but it sure is cool to watch how they interact, especially the ones that are "friends" and don't just try to avoid each other. It makes me happy to see them together, even if they don't care one way or the other. The optimum may be to keep them all separately, but there's a balance. It's too bad the males not for breeding must be designated to be housed alone.

Not lonely in the way we get lonely, but they do get used to living and interacting with one another.
