Do leos smell calcium?

If a leo has MBD, and you put a bowl of calcium infront of his/her hide, would they smell it and come get it? Ive heard they know when to get calcium and how much, but do they smell the calcium when its there or do they need to taste it first to see what it is?

No mine does not have MBD...im just a curious person

Yes. They can smell the calcium... just like they can smell water!
