When it started warmimg up outside my leo pretty much stopped going into his hide. Several weeks ago when it was still cold outside he spent a lot of time in his hide. Do they use their hides less the warmer the air temperatures are?

I think there may several factors.

Personality of the gecko.
Whether the hide is on the warm or cool end.
Overall humidity in the room where the gecko is kept.
Type of substrate in humid hide.

Many factors, but regardless of the combination of these things I think a reptile is going to use the humid when it needs to.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he meant all hides, not just the humid hide.

Mine has been doing the same thing, so I lowered the thermostat and she started going back in, but she's still out more than she was in winter, so I think it was a combination of the temperature and the season? But that's just a guess.

I noticed my leo coming out more when it got warmer. When it was cold, she'd be in the hot hide all the time. Now, it's about high 70s and 80s (well, you already know that because we live in the same state xD) and she spends her whole day outside the hide. But, like the others said, I think it depends on the leo's personality. Some are too shy to stay out, but some don't care :) But I've only gone through one winter with my leo so far, so I don't know if it's because she just started getting comfortable with her surroundings (I got her in January), or it was the weather. I guess I'll have to wait until winter comes back around :)
