Do males always lick their hemipenes after?

My male is a really clumsy breeder. I paired him up tonight and he was clumsy and awkward as always, but he also didn't lick himself after they broke apart. Does that mean it was not a successful pairing?

He's probably the kind of gecko that doesn't wash his hands after he uses the restroom either.

Seriously, though, some do, some don't. It's not an indicator of successful breeding.
