They can bite, but there are ways of preventing that. My Leo's are great with eating supers. Most leos will know where to bite. Just tong feed. Pinch the head before feeding the super. Just grab at tail and let the head squirm. They are actually a very good feeder. Not that mealies are bad, I just think people get scared away from supers when really they are pretty good and worth using/trying. It's nice because its a larger feeder so they eat less per feeding. Like 3-4 supers every 2 days or so. They are extremely easy to keep too. Just saying
