Do you need a backgrounds for your Terrarium?

Are they there to make stuff look pretty or does it make the Geckos feel safe or something to that effect?

I dont have any in my enclosures, but it can keep them from seeing their reflection and maybe stressing out thinking there is another leo.

I'm not exactly sure, but I'd imagine having one would be more comfortable for them? I myself would get one just because it looked "better" lol.

Don't know if you need one but I always use one.
Looks much nicer.

It does make them feel safer to some degree. It is mostly for looks though.

By covering a side or two (or three) of a glass tank does help reduce the stress and makes them feel more secure. It doesn't have to be an aquarium background - although they do look MUCH nicer. Depending on where your tank sits, they could be getting too much 'action' in a room.

I have all my tanks covered on three sides (geckos, frogs and mice) because it keeps my cats from being able to terrorize the critters.

Just my opinion, btw.

Some put for safety so they wont stress out they feel secure some for looks that really depends on you. I for one put it for looks I like to make vivs pretty
