Ok since August I have been told that they have seen abnormalities on my mammograms. I have undergone 2 additional x-rays, an ultrasound and an MRI. It has taken me up until today to get an appt with a breast surgeon. I go in today and they tell me that I don't have all my info!!!! Apparently the radiology place neglected to give me a copy of the ultrasound pics when I picked up all the copies. So now I have to reschedule. Oh and I can't bring my child unless a nurse sits with her out in the waiting room. I made it clear that it's not an option. The nurse then tells me she understands, she has two kids as well. You know what, John Wayne Gacy used to be a married family man too you know!!! I work nights and don't have a day time baby sitter. So now I have to wait at least 72 hours for a copy to be made and then call and get another appointment. I am so angry!!! I am so close to just saying screw it. If I have cancer, it's already been plenty of time for it to spread. I love how they tell you to hurry up and get all this stuff done, but then you have to wait weeks if not months to get an appointment with a doctor!!! AGGGHHHHH!!!!

Trust me, I know exactly how you feel.

I was told last week on Friday that I had melanoma, and that after my biopsy results came back from two other areas they were going to put me into surgery to have the majority of my moles removed in the bad areas.

It's been one week. No returned phone calls, and no results. If I do have melanoma they better darn well get me into surgery before it spreads.

Doctors are such a pain....

I really hope that your appointment goes well!

A few years ago, I started seeing my doctor for chronic pain. Felt like a toothache all over. He ran tests for Chronic Fatigue and Lupus. Since that wasn't it, he figured I was just depressed and put me on a battery of antidepressants. Still had the pain and fatigue. I just didn't care anymore!

After being bed-ridden, unable to walk for two weeks, I gave up on this guy, who believed I must just be a whack job trying to get meds and I went to another doctor. Turns out I have MS and had it been caught a few years ago, I might not have as much nerve damage.

I am so sorry you had to go through all that. I know you must be very frustrated. I hope your new appointment goes well and you get good news.

Be blessed!

K

This reminds me of being in the ER with my grandmother the other night. It took 2hrs just to register her then six hours waiting to be evaluated by a doctor, some emergency. LIke I understand doctors are stressed and sometimes they are overcrowded but i believe they need to revamp some procedures to make it more effiecient.

Doctors rate here on the HUMAN scale--> 0.l.................10
They dont treat you like a human, your a $ sign or a number, or how good your insurance is.

I remember i switched insurance companies one year and i got rushed to the front of the line every single time. Now my job dont have that insurance company anymore so its back to the back of the line now.

You go to the hospital and get hooked up to a machine for heart rate or breathing machine, if an alarm goes off they take 2 dam days to get to your room.

It makes me sick about how much money these people make and they dont care about crap!!

Yea, EMERGENCY rooms tend to be insane even if you have an emergency. Last summer I had some insane stomach thing where I couldn't walk, had a 104* fever and they still took HOURS to see me. Everyone thought it was appendicitis, it turned out not to be but isn't it best to be seen quick for that? LOL

Well hopefully the boob doctor will go smoothly. Turns out last night decided to be a night for me to experience my first kidney stone. I honestly thought somehow I had become pregnant and never realized it. Of course after waiting it out for 2 hours before calling my bf at work to get home ASAP and dropping the kid off at grandma's, I had to wait for 4 hours in the ER. As soon as I got to the bed, I went to give a urine sample and winded up passing the stone before the doctor even got to look at me. Now I just get to follow up with my doctor to see what I can do now. This is going to be a fun week for me. Jeez :main_rolleyes:

Uhg, I know how you feel. I have a rare collagen disorder. It took years for my doctors to diagnose me with it and I was only diagnosed with it because I got referred to another doctor because mine was out. Doctors can be real whack jobs. My condition is for the most part only seriously treated at a teaching hospital so I have to put up with strange people poking and prodding my skin and joints without my permission all the time. My doctors get in arguments on the phone with each other just about every visit because someone else is always "hoarding" the x-rays.

Jessica, I'm so sorry!

I am 19 and I've had kindey stones. :( They got me into the ER very quickly though...but I know what your pain felt like...When I had my kindey stones, I hurt so bad I was sick to my stomache. I ran to the bathroom and colapsed screaming infront of the toilet. My Dad had to pick me up and carry me to the car because I couldn't walk. :( So, they hurt super bad and I know your pain.

Matt and I will be keeping you in our prayers.

We hope everything works out great.

19 and already with kidney stones?!? God I'm sorry for you Mallorie. I have an appt with the regular doctor on Monday to follow up with the kidney stone deal. I'll also be calling the boob docter(my bf hates that I call her that) Monday and getting another appt. Thank God I feel normal again. Hopefully all will go well. Thanks everyone for letting me vent and for your support.

But, I had kindey stones from drinking WAY too much soda. lol. I learned my lesson.

Oh, I know. Orange soda is my bane. Guess I'll have to be cutting that out now. I already cut my coffee intake from a pot a day to 3 cups a week when I was preggo years ago. gotta love life. LOL

LOL at the Boob Doc
:main_laugh:

It's insane the way that the doctors have to run through patients anymore

I am old enough to remember having a General Practitioner that did not make appointments-it was "first come-first served"-so to speak and he took all the time that he needed with you

It sometimes got frustrating for the people waiting -but when it was your turn -you really appreciated the time that he was willing to spend with you and he made sure that he took care of you
That included reassuring any fears that you might have had too

My current doctor is in a clinic and while it is not free-A typical office visit for me- which is every 6 weeks now( because of the government regulations for prescribing pain meds) is less than 5 minutes in with her -just enough for her to ask me how I am and to write my prescriptions

I do thank God that she does believe that I really do have chronic pain and that I am not just a nut job-lol

Chronic pain is not handled in any kind of intelligent manner these days -I think mostly because of govt. regulations on medicines and way too many people are living their life in agonizing pain

There are not enough doctors and they have way too heavy case loads

On the subject of waiting for test results-I won't even go there-it is all to often handled with absolutely no sensitivity for the patient and lost info

There just are not enough people employed anywhere anymore to do the jobs correctly......

Well, that's it!!! I have had it!!!!

So I finally get to see the boob doctor. She was a queen bee!!! Wanted to know why I would list my allergy induced asthma on my medical record and why I listed the fact that I'm allergic to most animal on it as well!?! She said that it not necessary(excuse me?). Demanding to want to know why my ob did a mammogram at 35 yr of age instead of the standard 40 yrs of age. What the :furious2: :furious3: ?? So she says it's most likely a fluid filled cyst and I would need to go to a local hospital and have them aspirate it and then repeat x-rays to see if that would make it go away. Fine by me. Today I get a call from the radiology dept of the hospital that has received my films and orders. They see something that doesn't correlate with what the doctor says and sees. So now they want me to go and get ANOTHER ultrasound to see if they see it again. I am now at the point where I said no!!!!! I am sick of this BS!!! They say then they won't do anything without the repeat. I said fine, let my doctor know then that I ain't doing squat. This is frigging ridiculous!!! I could care less anymore. How the heck am I supposed to find out if I got cancer if I keep getting this run around?!? I just can't take it anymore. When I see my ob at my next checkup in the spring I am so letting him know about all of this and that I am not going through this again. UGHH!!!

Jessica-That is just ridiculous that the Dr. that you saw had that attitude
I don't blame you for being upset and frustrated

The only problem that I see with waiting is that you should really try and find out exactly what is going on asap

Good Luck with better results if you decide to try again
I pray that it is only a cyst as they first thought

Please keep us posted........
