no wait, here's another good ad i just found, note that the sand is NOT calci sand. It is sand that they took out of the local desert... which is illegal btw. --- 3 leopard geckos

(to mods) if im not allowed to post links like this, just get rid of it please! i didnt find anything in the TOS to say otherwise though :)

The only time I "discriminate" against age is when I can sense that the geckos are just a phase for them. Like, if they have their parents buy them all the fancy equipment and different high end morphs from big scale breeders like Baronak, McGuiness, Demayer, etc. and then lose interest in a month. But I always offer buy-back, so if I were to sell to an impulse "hobbyist" and they lose interest in the animal, I know the gecko comes back to me, not to another random person on craigslist

hey! thats a smart idea! im planning ways to sell my hatchlings privately (i want to avoid selling to my reptile store, because i only get store credit :D ), but my worst fear is one of my babies ending up somewhere bad or in the hands of a person who looses interest... maybe i will try to come up with a policy of sorts so that i can kind of prevent that... plus (since im so small scale i can do this!) im not going to sell one of my hatchlings to anyone until they can prove to me that they can take care of it and have the right set up.

And i completely understand the "phase" thing. my sisters friend bought a leopard gecko from a breeder (only thing she did right!) after falling in love with mine, kept him on blue calci-sand (he was stained bright blue for weeks when i got him home!), fed him HUGE crickets (no supplements at all), and no heat whatsoever. So she handed him over to me for free because she lost interest in just a few months, and now he is fat, healthy, and the (hopefully) soon-to-be father of some babies currently in the incubator. :)

I've found irresponsible people in all ages
"Young know it alls" & "old can't them craps"
Some people ain't learned or won't learn former being better than the later. It can be corrected
Some people who impulse buy can be great owners if novelty don't where off
I've had leos for a couple years now & the first one was an impulse buy
Always loved reptiles
Made a few mistakes in care early on. But now I know proper care & have begun to breed them

Some people shouldn't own even turtle the easiest of reptiles or even a dog
These people should be easy to spot lol

As for advice: Free advice is the kind that costs you nothing unless you act upon it.

As for selling to you... Based on your age you would need to prove yourself to me. Once you did I would sell to you.

Im the same way :) (even if i am that age) I really dont care what age a person is, for example, when i bred rosy boas, i would NOT sell to anyone unless they could prove to me that they did research, had an enclosure prepared, or were at least willing to learn and get what they needed for the snake before i let them take it home. (i made a mistake by trusting my family. i thought they actually remembered or listened to the care instructions i gave them...) I plan to do the same with my leopard geckos this year. I am breeding on a small scale, so each baby will be very special to me, and i dont want them to end up in a home where i know they wont be taken care of. :) It never hurts to err on the side of caution, and i am very willing to prove myself to anyone who wants me to. That way they will know that their hard-earned geckos wont be going to a bad home :)
