Does anybody LIKE normal/high yellow and think they look pretty/cool/exotic??

I know there are tons of really cool and unusual looking morphs that breeders are making, and it looks like none of the breeders are intentionally making "normals".

I was wondering if anyone still thinks the normal looks cool/pretty/exotic, or do you think it just look "bad" and boring and ugly next to all the new morphs available?

I wanted to know what you all think. I am biased because I own a normal (and an albino carrot-tail sunglow) so I can't judge.

But I wonder, does anyone like the colors/patterns of a normal enough to buy one over another morph available from breeders? Do they still look "cool" to someone not in the hobby? Or does everyone think they are now ugly and thats why nobody is breeding them?

They look pretty exotic and beautiful if you ask me! :main_laugh:

I can't upload a picture but here is a short video of my girls roaming their tank:

Well, they are called Leopard Geckos so the Normal/High Yellow displays that nicely and I think people not in the hobby would like them much better if/because they didn't know some of the other morphs.

As for my opinion, I think they are nice, but I wouldn't buy one over a nice morph. I also have a High Yellow. I agree that they are exotic.

High yellow was one of the first morphs created- I think it's sometimes nice to look back on history and go back to the gecko's roots.

I don't really like the original wild type that had the dull dijon mustard colored background with a lot of blurry black stripes. But I do like the high yellows that have nice black/yellow contrast with interesting arrangements of spots. I have one normal male that I've bred to a blizzard female in the hope of getting some babies with speckles (which happens sometimes with het blizzards).

i like the way normals look. in addition to aesthetics, i like having them to show people where it all started. then contrast the normal with my other geckos and talk a bit abt genetics and selective breeding.

+1

I've got 2 high yellows, a normal, and a bold stipe normal myself. I still think they're pretty cool.
