Well tonight is cricket night for my geckos. And everyone loves them except one. Delia, my Secret Santa present, doesn't like the crickets. She has never had crickets and tonight is the first time. But, I have never seen a leo not chase after crickets. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do to get them to eat crickets? Thanks in advanced.

Greg, just start out with one or two crickets for her. Too many may stress her out, so let her notice the movement of one or two and see if she gets her preditory instinct 'sparked'. There will always be geckos that have interest in only particular feeders... I have some that would starve to death if they only had mealowrms, and a few that wouldn't touch a cricket for their lives! LOL!

I have a few geckos that won't eat crickets. I'd given up getting them to eat one! My Hardee is spoiled to the point that he'll only eat freshly shedded white dubias! They stand very firm on their preference!

You can also slowly integrate the new feeders... so a bowl of mealies one night, next week very few mealies, then introduce a couple of crickets, then eliminate all mealies together and just feed crickets.

I've had this work on two of my leos before. They were cricket-eaters and I slowly moved them to mealworms. Then one day, I acquired a leo that would rather starve than eat mealworms - so I ended up getting used to feeding crickets :p Now I mainly feed crickets with mealworms every now and then... but my geckos all seem to have a huge craving for crickets.
