Ok, So I am a little sad cuz I have had 4 hatchings die in the egg. 3 of which has been from the same mom. (So that mom has not has 1 live yet) This is her first year so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. when I pip the egg to see what it looked like they are fully developed just dead. So I don't know what is going wrong. This season (which is my first) I have had 3 live and 4 die so far. Does anyone know why this is happening. I have a hovabator and using vermiculite and the temps are 85-86* Can anyone bring me some comfort please.

At what day were you pipping? It really shouldn't be done unless one clutchmate has hatched and the other egg is 2 weeks or more past due.

I pipped after the eggs had collapsed and started having a slight smell to it.

It may just be that that pairing can't produce viable offspring. That is probably the case if the rest of the female's eggs do the same thing. If that's the problem, I'd just pair her with a different male next season. You'll probably get better results.
