Well about a year ago my friend told me about a petco with horrible conditions for their leos. Babies on sand, with no water little food ect. SO she asked if i could make a picture for a flyer to post on their door to warn people. Its the drawing i use for my avatar now. Marcia saw the pic and asked if i could post the whole thing. I hope it doesnt offend anybody that uses sand. But we all know its not good for babies which was our real concern. OK here it is. Oh please let me know what you think of it, as an art major i like to hear critiques. :D

VERY cool!! How long did that take you to do, start to finish? I hope that it educates people - hope Petco lets it stay up. Maybe it could have a little pouch on one corner of the poster with cards to geckoforums.net that people could take home with them.

I like the pic and the idea, but if you put it ON their doors, they can take it off. It won't be much of a "protest". That is their property and it may even be illegal for you to post that on their door. Standing outside with a poster is a different story, I believe.

Great drawing...I do hope it does some good....Maybe get it put on some business card magnets with the url to geckoforums and pass them to people outside the store. There has to be a way to get that message out there that isn't illegal. I love the drawing I can see you put a lot of time and effort and it does depict what a leo feels like with an impacted belly.I see nothing wrong with it at all. Great detail. Great job...lets hope there is something that you can do that will make a differnce...in Petcos coporate pocket.

Actually we put it up after the petco opened and they didnt take it down for weeks... I guess they didnt notice it, They didnt notice the dying leos in their cages so why would they notice a poster? Anyways...

Thanks guys for all the comments!!! It took me a couple of hours to do it. The real time consumer was the digital coloring. Actually the sketch was made in a art history class i didnt favor lol, they have their uses. Im working on bearded dragon drawing as we speak... and then a chameleon, might get to post him up tommorrow, but most likely thursday. Im also gona revamp the leo and just make a happy one healthy version. :D I also want to start thinking of a leo logo for my breeding project, Eyelids for the win hehe.

Great drawing. It would certainly make me think twice about buying a gecko from petco. although I don't even think about it. I learned my lesson like most people here.

That is very cool! You should do one with bearded dragons head bobbing playing in a heavy metal band. :guitarist:

I always wanted to video tape my dragons and iguanas head bobbing with metal music in the back ground. :main_yes:
