Hello everyone, my name is Drew.
I've been keeping and sometimes breeding reptiles since, well for almost 20 years now. I started with Burms way back then, apprenticing under a fellow in Washington State when I was in the Army. I worked in a pretty cool pet store for a while when I got back to Jersey, and was introduced to Zig Lesczynski by the manager. He used to come in and shoot herps from our shop, some of the animals I cared for might have made it into Reptiles or a book somewhere along the line!
I have kept and bred a few species of chameleons starting in 1996.
My current collection includes a couple of green tree frogs cohabbing with two anoles, a rescued savannah monitor, an adopted California king snake, an adopted Honduran milk snake, and a psychotic variable king female who loves to bite me, but cuddles with anyone else.
I am in the process of buying a house, and once we get that accomplished my wife and I are going to devote a room to reptiles, and I am going to continue the breeding empire I started more than a decade ago.
Ok I may be exaggerating on the empire part, but I am looking forward to getting back into the breeding aspect of herpetoculture. It is a lot of work but has always been my favorite part of the hobby.
Ill be around, mostly lurking on this and a few other boards. Im taking notes and researching the changes in the industry that have occurred since I was last "active". I am trying to narrow down the species I would like to concentrate on, and geckos of various species have always interested me. I have had both leos and Uroplatus. Im not sold on anything other than a few species of chameleon at this time though, so here I am to lurk!
Anyway, that is me in a nutshell, I'll see you around.
