Dropped an egg

I was opening all my deli cups to allow air exchange like I do once a week. While holding the open container with 2 bold stripe eggs, my dog ran into the room and tripped me. The eggs felll 5 feet onto the carpet. These eggs were due to hatch in about 4 days. Before I dropped them, the eggs had softened up like they usually do before hatching. Right after they dropped they seemed to harden up. Are they probably dead?

No I love my dogs. She had just got home from vet and was so excited to see me that she sprinted to me.

Since my eggs were due to hatch in a few days I don't think I should open them. I'll wait for some more replies until I do

I have marks on them so I already know which side is up. When the eggs are this far along, I usually see nothing but White and some dark spots by cabdling

I've dropped eggs and they've ended up fine, but I've also dropped eggs and they didn't make it, at least it was carpeted so it was somewhat padded...there is no way to tell other than waiting really, I know it sucks

Thanks for the replies. I'm obviously mad that I dropped them but now I just want to know how they will turn out. Patience has always been my weakeness!

The other one hatched! 2 great bold stripes. I guess gecko eggs are just real hardy to survive a 5 foot drop and still hatch out perfect
