I was getting ready to put my gecko back, and i was holding him towards the bottom of the cage and he just took a jump to the ground! I felt so bad. it was the worst feeling ever. it was only like 2 feet or so. i highly doubt he hurt himself. But my main concern was that he now doubts me when i hold him... idk it was bad. anyone have a similar story? =/ sucks

Earlier this week while cleaning tubs we had a 2 month old(approx) gecko take a leap. After picking it up, it ran up my arm and as it was running its tail fell completely off. So there I am with a gecko in the bend of my arm up against my shirt, bleeding on me, with a tail that wiggled off my arm. At least the tail landed in the trash so I didn't have to pick it up. But still not a very comforting feeling.:main_no:

My gecko suicide leaps too. She's usually okay, I don't like to hold her too high over a surface, and usually I can catch her (I've learned to be quick), but the tail-dropping is my only fear. It's been alright so far, but being careful is good.

my female aft is skittish but she use to always freak out and run away when you tried to hold her but one day she leaped and she hasn't tried since
so I think she learned her lesson
