Dry Skin

My leo, Hobbes, has what looks like some dry skin just at the very tip of his little nose. It looks like whitish, dry skin. Is this shed that has failed to come off? I thought I'd get some opinions from you knowledgable gecko lovers. If it is stuck shed should I go with the warm water bath/q-tip route?

Its left over shed, you can moisten it and gently pull it off for him. :)

I had this happened several times before, sometimes I need to use a pair of tweezers to help get it off, you'll need to be very careful though if in case you need to use tweezers.

Warm water soaks are a good idea. Sometimes the skin will come off on it's own during soaking. If not, the soak makes it possible to get it off with a Q-Tip and/or tweezers.

I soaked one of my hybrid Florida King x Honduran Milk snakes tonight. It looks like she had a bad shed last time. The extra layer of dead skin on her face was really bothering her. She had rubbed her snout to the point that it looks irritated. I was worried that she had mouth rot, but once I soaked her and removed the skin I could tell what happened.

Here's a pic of her from last year. The breeder named her "Orange Band".

Wow! Awsome snake!
Thanks. Yeah, I just had to steal the thread and show her off! I have 6 of these and they're all quite different looking. 4 are albinos. I'll post more pics of them soon in the Colubrids section of the forum.

These hybrids were bred from double hets that came from an Albino Florida Lemon King x Honduran Milk Snake pairing. I'm gonna out cross a few of them to apricot pueblans I think. Here's another one. His name is Hypo Sunset.

Wow. Look at that color! Amazing!!! How much did each cost you?
I got 6 of the hybrids for $400 I think it was. I regret not jumping on them sooner, as there was a really amazing one that I didn't get. There were a few health problems with some of them, and I'm not sure, but the one I really wanted may have gone to another breeder who ended up freezing them. All of mine made it, and had I bought that other one it probably would have made it too.

On a positive note, the ones I've got are doing great and have the potential to produce some really beautiful animals. Here's a picture of the one I wish I would have gotten. Note, this picture was taken by the breeder, not by me. I don't think he would mind me posting it though.

Sorry for hijacking this thread! I'll start my own.
