For them to stay warm should I make 1 layer of egg carton the other layer of toilet paper roll and egg carton again and so on?

Eg.
1 - Egg Carton
2 - Toilet paper roll
3 - Egg Carton
4 - Toilet paper roll

Also because with the egg carton only I think that the space is limited because the egg carton will go in each other and I do not know how to space them so that they do not go in each other.

Dont over think it. and they do not require a large amount of space. what i do is i get the 5 x 6 slotted egg flats and i turn them so that they dont match up so they dont go into each other and this way the dubia can have a tight place to move about. they like small tight spaces so dont worry. get your bin.. stand the egg crate up and pack it loosly and just let it slant a bit or something and just add your food and chow and crank the heat up and watch them work. i just been so busy lately i havn't checked my guys in a while except for feeding and adding water gel and this is during the day u would maybe see 5 or 6. so last night i got home late and decided to walk by and i turned on the light and bam... i started with maybe a handful i now have 100's.. and im kicking my self because i just did another trade for another order of dubia. so it looks like i will be making another enclosure for a new colony. if you would like me to keep you posted on it all just pm me i will email photos i take. :main_thumbsup:

If mine do not get wet i will not change them EVER i see no reason to change the egg flats unless you happen to be cleaning the entire enclosure but even then you can just bang off the frass and re use them. I dont know anyone that just changes them out for any specific health reason unless they so happen to get wet. Once wet you run risk with mold. I keep the egg flats slightly slanted just a bit and packed tight but not so they fit into each other and then there is a gap and all the way to the right is their water gels chow and fruit or vegie dish's. and in between that empty gap i keep toilet paper rolls and egg flat pieces that i have cut off and left in there for them to use as extra cover considering the new born nymphs like to stay close to the ground and around the food area.

I just ordered some egg flats because i am setting up another colony or 2 but so far in my 1 colony i have had the same egg flats in there going on 4 months now and the bin and flats are still pretty clean. I dont for see my self changing or cleaning anything for some time now. :main_thumbsup:
