Hi everyone, i just joined this forum (wow...took a long timeto get authorised!!!!) anyway, i did notice3 a few posts with people having excess males in their Dubia colony so as advice i suggest you feed off the extra males when they are nymphs and the way to sex them is shown here.
this image is of a femal - the one im holding is one molt away from being an adult, please take not of the LARGER final segmant on the abdomen
this is a picture of a shed of a male (sorry couldn't find a nece sized male - think ive fed them all off) but please not the SMALLER last segment on the abdomen.
this isa fullproof method to sex your dubia roaches and the differences is clearly in the last segment of their abdomen and you can tell from virtually their second molt whether they are male of Female.
oh...IM chris, from South Africa....will post a pic of my leo girl soon in another thread (she is still called lance because we thought she was a boy) nice to meet you all....Lance loves the dubia so i hope the guide above will help you not to feed off any small females and get ri of the males instead
