I know only the males have wings (right??) but how long does it take
for them to develope wings?
Is there any other way to sex them besides the wings?

I have about 150 in my colony, but only one has wings. I know I must
have more than one male in there out of 150!!

Last night at leo feeding time, I found a nice perfect size roach that was
freashly shed, it even still had some of it connected.
It was white all over except the black little eyes.
It was VERY soft. I knew this would be a special treat for one of my lucky
leos (like a nice soft shell crab!!), so I dusted it and put it in front of
Slinky's cave door. He wasted no time wolfing it down with delight.
He munched on it with his eyes closed and licked his lips longer than
usual. I think it's safe to say that was a real gourmet treat for him!! :main_yes:

I wish I could catch the roaches more often right after a shed like that.
This time, we just got lucky :main_thumbsup:

Nats, on my other post about my Dubias, Sam (thekooliest) posted a link to how some people sex immature Dubias. I believe foolsgold tried it, and said it is accurate. There are links and pictures. You'll just have to catch the buggers in order to test it out! Just read through the page I am linking you to...

Thanks for the link :)

Yeah, I remember seeing that now!
Problem with that is, you have to pick them up to take a close look!

I dont think I want to do that, but it looks like the only way

I don't know how you can hate them so much! I think they are kinda cute really :) Plus, they do not bite or anything scary like that lol.

Sorry nats..... I thought people who said that were crazy too...... till I got mine :main_lipsrsealed: the babies and really little ones look like potato bugs (pill bugs to some people). And now *sigh* I get to say 'yes, I think they are cute too.'

Well, I can agree with you on one thing, the little ones DO look like potato bugs, or, "rolly-dolly bugs", as we called them when I was a kid :main_yes:

But not cute, not by any stretch of the imagination ;) :main_laugh:

Well great news!! Beau has been fed on meal worms so far and tonight she took 8 of them and 3 roaches no problem! :D:D:main_yes: I felt like a proud momma lol! The first one was on its back and she went for it, it must have caught her nose and when she pulled away it flipped over and started to run off. Thats when she nabbed it and chowed down:D:main_laugh::D
