Dubias??

I'm thinking about trying dubias as a feeder insect for my leos, crestie, and water dragon as I've heard they are more nutritious and way easier to keep than crickets. Which supplier has the best dubia prices, and how many would I realistically need to start a culture? The cheapest I've found so far was carolinapetsupply.com with 100 mixed size roaches for $42.95. I've heard theroachguy.com is good too but they're always sold out when I check the site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unless you fed them before, you might want to try a sample to see if they will be appreciated. My geckos would not eat them. I ended up giving them to a guy fishing at the lake.... take care. HJ

I got mine off a guy on Craigslist for free. Thankfully all but one are nuts over the roaches. If it weren't for that last stubborn gecko I might pull out of mealies entirely, seeing how much trouble that's been recently.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'll try to test them out with a few roaches before I order a ton.

If the leos approve, how many roaches should I order to get a culture big enough to feed four leos and a water dragon?

If the leos don't like the roaches, do any dragon owners out there have advice for an alternative feeder insect?

When I first tried dubia roaches, most (but not all) of my geckos didn't eat them. However, I stopped feeding them crickets, but continued feeding mealworms and dubia roaches. Eventually, even the picky eaters started eating the dubia roaches. Now they won't eat crickets.
I ordered my first several hundered roaches from The Roach Guy too.
