Hi guys,
I recently got a leopard gecko and need some advice.
If I were to gutload my crickets/ roaches would I also need to dust my crickets/ roaches with calcium and Vitamin D3 as well? If I use cricket food for gutloading. Also what do you guys like to use for feeding? I would really like to know! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I feed my hatchling leopard geckos mealworms and my adults alternating weeks of crickets and super worms with occasional feeding treat of hornworms or silkworms.

It's not clear that gut loading will provide the leopard gecko with enough calcium and D3. That said, leopard geckos, being nocturnal, don't need a lot of D3 to process their calcium and there are indications that geckos can be provided with too much of each. I use Repashy Calcium Plus which provides calcium, D3 and vitamins. I dust feeders every other feeding, so they get the supplements 1-2 times a week. I do keep a dish of plain calcium for the hatchlings who seem to need more.
