I own a Dwarf leopard gecko. It was given to me in March by a Well known Gecko Breeder. I will never breed her. She is a little sweatheart. She was born 1-09-97 and she is currently 26 grams. She does get belly heat and gets fed every day mealworms. Here is a pic of her.

How much did she weigh as a baby?
Was she born looking shorter like that? Or did she look normal proportion and her body just didn't grow as fast as her limbs?

I just hatched out two 1gram babies from a super snow het rw/mp and an rw albino patternless female. They both look great right now, acting spunky and active enough to be difficult to photograph them without a cup or "finger corral" but I'm not really sure what to expect from them. They don't have that short body look to them, they look like miniatures. Do you think it could be the same type of genetic event that created your girl, or a different kind of defect?

I actaully think we also have a dwarf...she is odd...and has been small. We recieved her at 3 grams!!!!!! Didn't expect her to be that small...but she has a deformed rib cage and isn't a breeder. She is almost a year old and weighs about 33 grams. She is in porportion however.... Quite unfortunate since she was supposed to be part of a project we are really excited about.

We hatched what we believe to be the only true Dwarf Leopard Gecko in the world. She was hatched out by us in 2004, and is now almost two and a half years old. Thought I would share her with everybody, instead of just keeping her to myself. The first thing I noticed when I saw her in the incubator was that she only had one band, instead of two. I thought that was pretty neat in itself, then I notice her small size. I wish I would have taken more pics of her as she was growing, but here are a couple.

I think it wouldnt be any worse than breeding bro and sis, thats just not moraly right, would u mate with your sibbling just cause (for an example) you are the only 2 with red eyes? We breed amimals like this all the time so y stop now? Yes an xray should be done to make sure that the eggs wont kill her but other than that whats stoping u? A leo that can live comfortably it a standerd 5 gallon would be great fo those who dont have a lot of room. Just my opinion, and yes i suck at spelling.
