A very simple and easy way to make a second story is to get some dowelling, some pine board from a DIY store and a can of non-toxic paint.

Cut the board to fit the tank, screw the dowels to the bottom as support legs, build a ramp for the gecko and paint it a couple of times to seal the wood.

Something like this

You'll probably find this already on the forums and I know I've posted it before, so here's the short version:
--four 1" dowels cut to the same size
--four PVC "feet" (go to Home Depot and look at PVC pieces) to give the dowels some stability
--two 12"x12" ceramic tiles, separated by:
--four dominoes or small wood pieces
--a zoo-med mini UTH in between the two tile pieces.

I don't glue anything and this is pretty stable. The picture I'm posting was done with ceramic legs instead of dowel legs. It's more stable but I didn't want to have to keep making the ceramic legs:

This way they can have heat at the top too so there's more room for more geckos to be comfortable. This way I keep 3 and sometimes 4 geckos in a 20 long.

Use a good sealer over your paint and you don't have to worry about it. Most everybody is using modge podge or a similar product

Then why did you post this?

As for a good non toxic spray paint brand, Krylon is non toxic when dry.
