I had a pair of cresteds until today. One started acting weird a few days ago. Instead of being on his leaf or side of the glass, I found him under the tree branch. (There is a good inch and a half clearing under branch where he was) over the next few days my boyfriend and I noticed he started eating the substrate. We pulled it out, and he went back to doing normal gecko stuff. Then we were finding him half buried in the substrate. We just thought silly lizard.
My question is this, will lizards eat weird things if their body is lacking in a nutrient or mineral? Like other animals do. We have them on a regular schedule of phashey which they eat the hell out of.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
