eating Q

Im sure this has been asked before but how often do leos eat? I can seem to get my leo to eat, he sees the cricket and attacks, misses and wont try again.
He wont eat much worms I even tried a pinkie frozen and thawed. Dotn know what else to try. Ive had him about a month and in the pet store they were feeding him pinkies every few days. What am I doing wrong? What can I give him to eat. It almost seems like hes blind or something and cant see his food.

Keep offering food. They will eat when they get hungry. We have a couple really bad hunters. Some people will take the back legs off the crickets to make it easier. I'm sure somebody with more experience will correct me, but I think I remember reading that getting them off pinkies can take a bit. Usually pinkies are only offered as an occassional treat or given to gravid females to boost fat and weight by most owners. Many adult leos only eat every other day or so. I would only start to worry if you start to see dramatic weight loss.

You can also hold a cricket by one leg in front of the gecko so it's easier to catch.
