that eco-earth holds alot of moisture. I have used it for turtles that need high humidity so I think if you had and geckos that has high humidity requirments then it should be good. But since you have this in the leopard gecko area then it would not be a good subsrate for leopard geckos. Maybe for cresties or gargs.

Eco Earth would be great for Crested Geckos. And I've heard some people use Eco Earth in their geckos humid hides, but I don't kow if its that safe.

I have use eco earth for all my other geckos for years with no ill effects and use it for my leo's nest boxes for a couple of years but it wouldn't be a good idea to use it for their whole enclosure.

I use eco-earth almost exclusively, but I don't have any geckos yet.
It works great with snakes, igs and tarantulas.
Just make sure you have it in a tank with good ventilation. Holds WAY too much humidity to use in totes.

Eco earth is more meant for herps/invert with higher hummidity requirements. I use it for other herps but its not good for leos, atleast not for the substrate, would work in humid hide..
