Egads! Diarrhea!

My 3 year old male Gollum, has had diarrhea now for about 1 1/2 weeks - he eats mealworms normally ... I acquired a new gecko about 2 months ago, separate cage, etc. I thought I was practicing good hygiene and quarantine, but apparently not. I'm being even more stringent since the new acquisition yesterday.

I have treated with:
Panacur - 25 mg/kg - 3 days in a row [Standard dosage is typically 25-50 mg/kg (or 10-20 mg/lb) given orally once every 7 days. May also be given as 50 mg/kg split into 3 consecutive daily doses and then repeating the entire regimen in 10 days.]
Sulfatrim - 25 mg/kg - 3 days in a row (started a second round and kicking it up to 50 mg/kg) [Standard dosage is typically 50 mg/kg or 20 mg/lb orally for three consecutive days and then continued every 48 hours as needed.]
Metronidazole - 25 mg/kg - 3 different occassions. [Standard dosage is typically 25-50 mg/kg (or 10-20 mg/lb) given orally once and then repeated in 3 or 4 days]

I am a vet tech, and my doc doesn't see reptiles, and there really aren't many that do in the area (I have to drive a hour away to see one). Any other suggestions? I'm going to try to take a fecal sample in this week and do a float and smear - but I don't have the stains to check for crypto. Anyone know if SediStain helps visualize?

I'm still rather new to the Leo thing, but, I have picked up a few things in these forums. As a total guess, I would say check your temps and make sure they are between 90-94. If its eating normally and haveing bad poop I would guess its a temperature related digestion problem. Not enough belly heat. My own recent experience with a pinworm infestation tells me that they dont eat if they're sick. I'm still having trouble getting one of mine to eat (and praying I don't lose her). Eating is good, check your temps. If your digital thermometers look right then get an infrared. I have about a 2 degree disparity between my digital temps and infrared temps. I average them out and use that as my base temp.

Iam a vet tech in a exotics vet also and think your regiment there is pretty good, minus i would add fluids because Sulfa drugs can very quickly crap out the kidneys (typically .25-.35cc LRS IP BID) Also sedistain is no good in reptiles, if its crypto your after you have to do a acid fast, or better yet a IFA to determine. Other then that I would check another fecal. Let me know how she is doing.
