Egg Box Drying out?

Right now I dont have any eggs but I have a dummy box in the incubator to test the temps and everything. Ive hadthe inubator running for 2 weeks now. I did a 60g Perilite and 40g Water. But the box is totally dry, did I do somthing wrong?

Sounds good except ......Use .8 X 60 grams = 48 grams water.
It will appear dry though since Perlite is going to allow the water to drain to the bottom. It creates humidity without the egg setting in water. Don't put any holes in the lid........Pop the lid on avgerage of once a week.
