Why would you have a whole bunch of tanks laying around. Besides with a 70 dollar built rack you can store lot's of containers in there. Also in craigslist you can find some rackign system's there as well that come with thermostat for way cheaper (bought mine for 20 dollars on craigslist and holds 18 16 quart containers). Oh yeah and the heating pads cost way more than heat tape/heat cable (23 ft of heat cable thats costs 17 bucks can easily clear out 4 rows.

Yeah there are a lot of reptile breeders down here so yeah it would cost more in other areas, but i think racks are the best way to start if your going to breed a gecko that can lay 10-20 eggs a season and is great to keep everything organized and stuff.

A rack system is cheaper in the long run. It cost me about 100$ for allthe material, tubs, and heat tape for a good rack that holds about 20 tubs. With 10 gallon tanks being 10$, plus another 15$ for the UTH, that can add up. Say you have ten hatchlings. With a rack system you can pay less than a hundred and still house them great. With the tank/UTH method, it would cost 250$. I would go with the rack system.

I agree. I'd jump on that opportunity if it came around.
