So my females have started laying eggs. Problem is they lay them in the pm, and by the am when I collect them from the lay box they are already partly collapsed. Any help? I put them in the incubator anyway. One has plumped up.

What's the substrate in your laybox? I use moist coco fiber and even if I miss by a day (like if I go away for a weekend) they are fine. They may be collapsing because they're not fertile. If they're plumping up in the incubator and they continue to develop then you're getting to them in time.

I keep my cocofiber pretty moist. Not so damp that water pours out when you squeeze it but damp enough where it clumps up. The eggs might be duds but they also might be drying out if you don't have coco fiber that's moist enough. Try candling them to see if there's a bullseye. If there is they're more than likely dried out or your female needs some extra calcium.

Sounds to me like they're dehydrating in the laying bin. Like Lisa suggested, get the laying medium a little wetter and you shouldn't have a problem. Even infertile eggs should be plump when they come out and then if they dent after a while it's because they're drying out. Unless obviously they are starting to rot, in which case it's evident that's why they're collapsing (color change, mold, sweating, etc.)
