I have a female that will not lay in the egg laying box. She always lays out side of the box, the last time the egg dried out and went bad. What do you think I can do to fix this issue . Thanks for your help.

The most likely possibilities are that the gecko is laying infertile eggs or that she just doesn't get it. I've had to deal with this before. You have 2 choices as I see it:
--when the gecko gets to the point where she's going to lay soon, keep putting her inthe lay box every time you pass by
--alternatively, put her in a small enclosure where the entire substrate is laybox substrate. Then you're safe no matter where she lays (but don't be surprised if they're infertile).
