One of my eggs hatched today and the egg next to it which is its clutchmate has been moved around by the hatchling, unfortunately i dont know which way up it should be as i havent marked it, will it still hatch? Or do you think if its been flipped over it wont hatch? thanks

if its been flipped it might not hatch, but since you cant be sure which is the top, just assume, for now, that it's okay. There's no use worrying about it. I'd mark the tops of the other eggs though, just in case it happened again

it hadnt just rolled it had been buried! surely if its due same time though it shouldnt matter coz it will already have developed in the egg? Its not as though the embryo can drown? Also, can you use any pen to mark the eggs? thanks

I use a sharpy, some times the eggs are chalky and its hard to right on them but I haven't tried like a regular ink pen or any thing else.

so if i used any marker pen it wouldnt matter? It wont soak into the egg and ruin it or anything stupid like that?

to my knowledge there hasn't been any problems with that. there was a thread where that question came up before and there wasn't anyone that claimed to notice any problems after marking their eggs. You (your eggs) should be fine.:main_thumbsup:
