Kind of a silly question but if you have a bigger egg is the baby that is born going to be bigger? Also will incubation take longer?

I mean if you have a small egg then you are definitely going to get a small baby because there just isnt room...

Incubation is based on temperature not egg size. You may get a bigger baby from a bigger egg, but not necessarily.

My most massive baby came from my most massive egg, my two longest babies came from average-sized eggs, and a number of folks here have had huge eggs that, if they hatched, resulted in smaller than normal babies. There's no hard and fast rule.

Not a silly question. I've wondered the same thing. We have one egg that is larger than the rest, and I'm curious to see what we get out of it.

I knew that just thought it might be in addition to. I mean when you have two eggs and they incubate at the sametime at the same temp, they dont hatch at exactly the same time... Usually a few hours to a couple days apart.

I have two eggs from a female that are a bit different in size. One is like 3/4" and the other is well over 1". Was curious if there were any was to predict the outcome for size. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

My little 1 grammer came from a huge egg last year. I was convinced he would be a giant when he hatched.....wrong,lol. His clutch mates egg was alot smaller looking and he was 5 grams at hatching so you never know.
