Egg sizes?

This is my first year breeding and my female just laid 17 eggs and counting but a few of them are almost half the size as the others. Are these unfertile or do they just tend to have varying sizes in eggs?

Yeah There probably unfertile… Candle them and if it yellow in color toss them out if you see red veins there good.

Bets of luck,

When you candle freshly laid eggs you'll see more of a circle with a dot near the top. You won't see veins in the eggs for a few days if they're fertile. If you're not sure stick them in the incubator anyway and if they dent then you'll know for sure.

leave them in the incubator don't candle them don't touch them very fragile also if their bad eggs they will mold and deflate size doesn't matter just like human babies they're all born different sizes the same goes with dragons i have had eggs twice as big as another one and both hatch just fine..hope this helps and the candling thing their DRAGONS not chickens!!!

the first 24 hours an egg can be handled with no ill affect the difference between a chicken and a dragon is one has feathers and the other has scales lol from my experience candling is a waste of time the egg will tell you if its bad or not..

back to the original post DON'T throw them out ..the eggs will tell you if there bad or not you put time into breeding ..did you witness coupling if so they all might be fertile so don't make the mistake and assume they're bad because size difference....if there color is white and they look nice and plump leave em hope this helps..and congratulations!!!!

Yeah don’t throw them out.

But candling is well worth it.
I put the eggs I don’t know in another container I don’t want to risk getting mold on the others.

And that why asking the egg to tell you if its bad or not is no good.

Well thanks everyone. Didnt mean to start a fight over this topic haha I did witness copulation. Usually 5-6 times a day. My male is a beast and thats just when I was in the room to witness it. So far in 2 weeks I've had some turn yellow but they are all still nice hearty eggs, no denting or molding. Also I went back to NY for 2 weeks so if they had dented while Iwas gone I didn't notice obviously.
