Hi,

I previously posted a thread about the egg as it had ruptured, and today it ruptured again and half the baby came out.

Its been incubating at 83 and has only been going 5 weeks so its premature and couldn't be hatching under normal conditions....the egg was half full of green liquid smelt like mould so the little guy didn't have much hope staying in the egg either :(

Problem is he is fully out and formed however he barely moves so i presumed he was dying but and he has a strong heartbeat. He can't blink or move so what do I do? He's currently in the incubator keeping warm...he still has his yolk salk attached and still has some to absorb.

My question is what to do, are there any cases where he could survive and any tips to help him?

Thanks

Keep him warm and humid and hope that he'll absorb the yolk sac before it dries up and falls off. Some would say it's weak and you should cull it no matter what, but that's your decision. It's likely it won't make it, but you never know.

He must have as they've slowly closed, and now they're only half open. Only just checked on him and he's not moving however he didn't last night but still had a heartbeat....I expect he's either dead or wont make it much longer...he's far too small and undeveloped

Il post a picture anyway to see

The egg stopped growing after the first rupture and the other one is bigger, the egg was also half full of green gunk, can see a bit on the photo of the egg....i'm assuming it was responding to the stress of the mould, at least i'm hoping! I can't believe it half got out the egg its barely formed!

I would guess that the egg went bad and the baby didn't really get the nutrition it needed. I suspect it won't make it but I hope you have better luck with the other ones.
