My two year old super hypo tangerine, Piper, laid her first eggs today. I bought another female and my first male a little over a month ago and they're all getting along pretty well. The male is a tremper and the other female is a patternless. I'm not like reallying intending for breeding I'm kinda like well if it happens it happens. Piper was getting kinda fat looking, her belly getting rounder than usual and she just seemed a little fatter when I held her last night. I bent her back and little and checked her tummy the way I've seen it done in pictures, couldn't really tell but I thought for sure she must have eggs. Today there were two in her cave, all withered. I know two eggs is the norm, but that they can keep the sperm and keep laying. I'm wondering how long of a wait is it between clutches? I put a box in, just in case, because she still looks tubby. She was in it when I went up stairs. I just wanna make sure I have a box in if she has more, but it would be nice if I could figure out about when that would be. I've seen online how to tell if the eggs are fertile, BUT that's only for eggs that haven't dried out. If they're dried out, can I tell if they would have been fertile or not? I held them up to the light and can't see that anything's in them. They've got a yellow hue to them and I know in bearded dragons, that's a sign that they were no good.

Should I leave that box in there all the time? Should I only put it in if I suspect the geckos are gravid? I dunno if HoneyBoy can even make babies lol, he's quite a bit smaller than Piper, still I don't think he's full grown.
But maybe they did mate? Because Piper has never laid eggs before. It's exciting! If they make little ones that would be cool and eventually I would love to get into professional breeding but for now, it's more like if it happens it happens, if not that's okay too.

i have never had any eggs of my own hoping for some this year but , i have seen people ask this question many times. if the egg is dried out its probably no good but incubate it anyway and candle it after a few days. but i expect if its as dry as you say then its proably no good. normally leos lay there eggs 2-4 weeks apart some longer and some sooner , so id reccomend keeping the egg laying box in there until your sure theres no more eggs coming. Good luck

Leave the box in. It makes a great humid hide as well. Expect about 2 weeks between clutches, though it can take longer. If you want to hatch anything you'll need an incubator or some way to keep stable temperatures in the 80-90 degree range (that means pick a temp. somewhere in that range and keep it within 2 degrees of fluctuation).

Thanks everyone! I will be keeping the nest box in for sure, I also saw my male mating with their other tankmate, Evie, so I'm hoping she'll have eggs too.
