Is it normal for Leos to develop eggs without breeding? Mine usually eats maybe twice a week (hard to get her to start usually. she's lazy and picky) and recently she's eating every other day and I catch her around her calcium dish and she's starting to get big in her abdomen. It was a fairly quick change in size. She's about a year old also. And you can't see eggs through the skin yet but then again its hard to look cause she doesn't like me trying (made a noise at me last night..)

I thought i had heard of Leos laying eggs without mating, like birds do, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

They can and will develop eggs without mating and usually reabsorb them rather than laying them

I have never had my females lay eggs without being with a male but that doesn't mean that it can't happen

We have a 1 yr old female that has never been bred and she laid 3 slugs ( set of 2 then a single). Most of our other reabsorbed the eggs.
