Elderly Gecko

This is my first time dealing with a senior gecko, and I believe he's in his final stage of life. He is no longer eating, no longer shedding, and does not wander his tank anymore. He's become quite skinny, and looking at him absolutely breaks my heart. Is there any way that I can make his final days more comfortable, or would it be best to have him put down? I'd hate to see him suffer. All help is appreciated.

I just went through this with one of my fat tails that I got as an adult more than 10 years ago. I know they can theoretically live to be 20, but I have no idea how old he was when I got him and he showed exactly the same symptoms. He didn't seem to be in pain. I'd offer him crickets regularly and even the last week or so, he would occasionally eat a few. I felt comfortable just keeping him in his familiar environment, not bothering him and offering food and water in case he wanted some.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing as well. He'll show interest in a cricket for all of 30 seconds and then he turns away. He's still drinking his water regularly, but then he goes right back under his warm hide. He doesn't seem to be in pain, just very lethargic. It's just hard to look at him with how skinny he's gotten. Thanks for the advice, it's much appreciated.
