sorry to piggyback on your thread, but what distinguishes an "electric" from a regular tangerine? is it just brighter coloration or is it something genetic in addition to the tangerine? i'm assuming it's something genetic but i have no idea what.

from what i know it is just tangs being selectivly breed to produce more red/orange in the entire body. Heres some pics, and thats the really the only pics i have seen besides a coulpe others.

I know a couple other people that do them, but as far as i have seen, Kelli's are my favorite.

cool... i think the urban gecko calls them tangerine tornadoes... all these morph names sure are confusing sometimes, especially for somebody with no leopard gecko breeding experience...

sorry for interrupting the natural flow of the thread, back to your initial post:

"Electric Tangerine" is a name that Kelli coined for her line of Tangerines. They are exceptional animals, and easily one of the nicest lines of tangs out there. We are working with some. What I have been particularly impressed by are the Electric Tang crosses. In our experience, when you cross a nice tang to another line you end up with offspring that are less than spectacular. But with the Electric Tangs the first year crosses have been amazing, at least for us. Here are some pics:

These are two Electric Tang x T.U.G. line crosses:

Here is the Electric Tang male that we're working with:

Here is the female:

And here is one of their offspring:

Hope that helps, Bret.

We have a few Electrics...I took some pics of them earlier today, most of them is on their way to shedd, so they don´t look their best.

We have sold some really stunning babies, but I have keept 3 females.
Not the most beautiful ones but two of them with lots of contrast and the third...well she was hatched with a shoort tail, so I haven´t decide if I shall breed her or not.

My absolut favorit...

This one I will breed back to the father...

and "shoort tail"

4-33.jpg

The father to these three ( he is in a younger version in a link higher up in the threed)...and he is still a very unreliable gecko, quiet agressive but he´s beauty makes you forget that :)

The mother...looks bad to day, it´s time for a new "dress"

2-60.jpg

and the last female...she haven´t layed any eggs this season, we keep or fingers crossed for next year! But she looks a bit strange...she have no visable pores, it dosen´t matter how much I look and I have a pretty good loupe...I see nothing!

I have had the pleasure of seeing Kelli's Electrics in person, and they ar sooo much more 'electric' than their photos depict. Back in my younger days, we would have called them psychedelic. [/end Jimmi Hendrix on guitar]
