apparantly she decided to go on a diet without telling me. i have noticed her eating habits slowing down for a while now but nothing to severe (it is winter time here). everyonce and a while she would eat like a hog, drop a massive turd then not eat for a while. I have had her for almost a year (march) and have never had any problems.

She dosn't seem interested in food at all, she still poos, they are just very tiny (normal brown, not runny etc and normal urates). I noticed today that her tail is not as firm as it normally has been so i can tell she is losing the weight there. one odd thing is that she has still got a belly on her. no eggs that i can tell, she just looks chunky 'round the middle.

Im goin to get some supers tonight to see if those spark her appetite. she wants nothing to do with crickets or mealies.

Any suggestions in the mean time??

I'm having a similar problem with my Tiamat, and no one on here seems to know what's going on with her. Otherwise, those that do aren't responding to my posts.

Tiamat ate fine for the first few weeks I had her, but then her temps were quite low and I didn't realize it until I had a proper thermometer. Now her temps are fixed and she's still eating only one super or so every other day.

There's a possibility that your gecko may have parasites if she's still looking a bit bloated. OR, she's ovulating and you just can't see the eggs yet. Maybe you could take a picture of her and her tummy and let us see. I find some people are better at seeing those things than others. Has she been acting a bit more aggressive lately? Have you noticed her digging at all?

Temps are normal, no aggression, no digging. although she did escape the other day (i found her shortly after, she was quite cold but thats it...no harm done other than that) that is very unlike her, she always seemed so chill and content. however her wierd eating habits started well before that. i blamed it on the weather :(. i dunno. im in a parasitology course so im gonna try to look at her poo monday if she gives me some lol. ill try to post some pics too although her belly coloration and such look normal

Maybe we can help each other then. Tiamat sounds like she might have the same thing as your Eliza. But she may not be at that stage yet where she completely stops eating....

maybe lol... i think she may have eaten a superworm last night (it may have just gotten out of the bowl though i haven't fully checked the tank) like i said, im gonna try to do some fecal tests monday, but her poops have been so tiny lately i dont know what i'll be able to do! maybe if i find parasites in the poo you can get a fecal done on yours to see if its the same??

Several of ours have lost 4-5 grams and their eating has slowed down. i consulted our herp vet and had fecals done ( they were all clear). The vet suggested that it was just brumation and I shouldn't really worry yet. I'd say if they loose more then a few grams If it were me, I'd get a fecal just to rule out any parasites.
