Well the good news first. We just got back from the pet store with the new subsrate. :)

Secondly (hopefully not bad news). She shed yesterday and has not eaten anything for about 3-4 days. (besides her shedding) She also has a blue spot on her belly which we did not notice before. (see below) She also has been kind of uneasy jumpy lately... Any advice or ideas on any of this?

out of curiousity, how warm is the warm side? Personally when it comes to this specific topic of digestion i am not totally knowledgable. However, some animals wont digest food properly if they dont have the proper heating. Just throwing that out there, i could be totally wrong!

Also, i know most everyone says that sand is bad, and pet stores aways have them on sand but.... I know that at our store we are instructed to put leapord geckos on sand after they have reached/exceeded the 6 inch mark. If they have not reached this point they are kept on reptile carpet.

Also, i think the blue spot is actually just an organ, I wouldnt be too worried.

Thanks for the reply! The warm side is at 88-90F. She spends a lot of time over there so I am unsure if that has anything to do with her not eating or her digestion. She also has been spending a lot of time in her half-log with the moist moss in it. Other than that everything seems normal :)

**Update**

Let it be known that Elle has been off of calci-sand for atleast a week now. We also got her a UTH and some more leaves to crawl on :) Everything seems to be going ok... she doesn't really poop that much lately, last few times have been kind of runny... but I think shes ok. Let me know what you think of her new layout :) Also let me know how the temp/humidity levels are... or what they should be. :main_cool3:

Okay, the cage looks better, than it was for her before. Thank you for changing that. I, and probably everybody else on here are glad you made that change. And yeah, the temp is at 93, which isn't too bad, but you might bring that down to 90. As in a 10-gal (that is what it looks like you have) that might over heat it. Just check and see what the cool side is at, I like mine at about 75. If it is, then you have enough of a temp gradient. Then the humidity is great, just as long as she has some moister, she will do great. And congrats on your new leo. Do you have a close up pick of just her?

And welcome to GF.net. We are glad to have you!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! We have noticed that the warm side of her *20-gal* tank seems a bit too warm, (90+ almost constantly) that is of course when both the UTH and heatlamp are on. When only using either the UTH or the heatlamp it drops to about 86-90. I think we are going to just use the lamp during the day, and when we are at home at night we will turn on the UTH aswell and monitor the temps closely. Her cool side is approx ~75.

Here are a few pics of here, and while we are at it, can someone confirm what she is... Tangerine?

One day I was doing something and was on and off cleaning her cage, the next minute I look over and up on the edge of the tank she was. That was a learning lesson for me. :)
