Is it possible to include too much foliage for crested geckos? I'm just wondering bc I have quite bit of foliage and climbing in their tanks.

I don't think so. Here is my first set up. Still new gecko but I like the set up the most so far.

Nice cage, LeopardGeckoMom52688. I'd throw some paper towels in there to line the cage to make it easier to clean out.

I don't have anything yet but I might go with bed a beast. But paper towel for the first month until I can give him or her a clean bill of health. But then bed a beast to help with the humidity!

I'm a big fan of planted tanks with bed a beast or eco earth. I have planted tanks for my day geckos and my crestie. While I spot clean droppings from the sides of the tank, and in the case of the crestie from his hide, I don't ever break down the tank and clean it out. It's kind of its own eco-system. I brought in some potato bugs (those gray bugs that roll into a ball when you bother them) to help break down the feces. I've had one day gecko tank this way for more than 2 years and the other 2 tanks for about a year with no problems and no smell. The geckos are all fat and healthy. (so are the potato bugs).
