I seem to be weakening from my stance that I will never own an enigma.i tell ya they are the most colourful animals I've seen.If I get one how can I minimize the negative enigma traits. If the parents have minimum traits does that mean the babies will have minimum defects?

That's a good question, I think so, but I'm not 100% sure. I think they are gorgous but I may do Mack Snow's they seem to have the same effect when mixing with different morphs, but the enigma's eyes are prettier. But if you get one without issues you have a gem!!!!

No,its possible to get an enigma with syndrome from parents with absolutely no symptoms, at least that's what's been shown to happen so far.

I think "minimize" is a good choice of word. I bred a Male Tang Bell Enigma to two females last year. From several resulting hatchlings, roughly 12 to 15 I'd say, I have only one animal with "head tilt". I'd say those are pretty good percentages.

This season, I'll be breeding that same male back to one or two of the females hatched last season (symptom free hatchlings, that is). I'm curious if this ups the percentages of hatchlings with symptoms. Stay tuned for results. :D

The "syndrome", as it is called, is not separate from the Enigma trait, it is all connected in a single mutation. It is completly possible to produce spinners and head tilters from parents that show minimal negative enigma traits... it is completely hit or miss and is not understood.
